If you are sponsored or have a relationship with someone who is who can help, please reach out to these guys. I believe they are looking for advertisement spots on jerseys or any help they can get. Help out a good cause and promote the sport through the next generation of fishermen. Make a phone call if you have the ability. I was not asked to do this, just tying to help spread the word. Hoping that the fishing community will pull through for a good cause. Comment below if you can help in any way. I believe Jake Shannon would be the person to contact in regards to helping out. He should see this and chime in! Y'all bring it in for these college boys getting this club going! I think they can take tackle donations as well.

Jay is correct you can contact me through PM, email me at jakeshann14@yahoo.com or on my cell at 682-478-6978. We have a good group of 12 guys who are committed to making this club a success. Only thing holding anyone back in our club is funds to travel to fish these college events.

to fish in the club you have to have an active UT Tyler student ID. To sponsor or donate you dont.

I suggest putting together a marketing plan and outline what you can do for potential sponsors. We got a little bit of financial support when I was fishing at UT, but we worked for it at boat shows, tournaments, distributing products, etc. Logos on jerseys doesn't do much for you by themselves and I wouldn't expect many financial "donations". Some companies are willing to supply product at a discount and we did get some at no cost, but again, we worked for it. Most of us worked a part time job while going to school full time to support our fishing habits. We were fortunate to win some money through the FLW events and that all went back to the team. The payouts were much more lucrative then, so that helped. We also ran a fundraiser tournament that drew about 90 boats. We took a risk and guaranteed money and it paid off, we profited a few thousand dollars from the tournament and the raffle we had. That took months of work in organizing the tournament, securing raffle prizes and promoting the tournament. A few of our members drove to every tackle store, bait shop, bass club, boat dealer, truck outfitter, etc. within about 100 miles to distribute fliers for the tournament. Overall, fishing in college just made a bunch of broke students even broker, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. I made connections through it that eventually led to my career.

I wish you guys the best of luck and please make the most of the experience.

Went through it at UT Dallas, takes a lot of work. I suggest pitching a plan to the Club Sports department as well. We were able to get a enough to cover hotels at least. Everything T54 said is the best you can really do, good luck!

He made a great point.. Get in good relations with the sports club and get them on the boat. We are in great relations with our sports club department here at SFA and they help us out tremendously. We won sports club of the year last year and that was a great accomplishment!!
