If you're banking it do you still have to pay the $7 access fee at all of the ramps? Or is it just a launch fee? There is nothing out there that seems to define the 2.. but thinking about taking a detour over there to give Lavon a break for a day or 2, but not for $7 to walk around hammer. Thanks in advance

if it is a ramp fee, you shouldn't have pay it. If it's a park entrance fee, then you have to pay it. If you can get in without paying money to open a gate, or paying for parking you're fine. Personally, I've never been to any of the public ramps on ray rob so i couldnt tell you one that allows what.

I think that Isle du Bois is the closest launch to McKinney so I'm going to assume you're asking about that park. Yes, you need to pay $7 for a day pass to the park whether you launch a boat or not.

Break the $7 down to a per hour rate for the amount of time you'll be there and it's cheap. Go and pay the $7. If you use a small bait, small bass hiding out in the newly flooded bushes will wear you out. Bigger fish are there but you'll need a bigger bait that the smaller bass won't attack - like a chatterbait with a trailer or a bigger Ratltrap.

Thanks Plano Tom. I was thinking there or buck, just feels like paying a $7 cover at a bar when the one next door is free roflmao

Heck I'll probably give it a go anyway, it'd be nice to see some new water

Buck Creek is much better...and the $7 is an "all user" fee....

Thanks musiclife, I tried Buck at daybreak, crossed the tracks and fished the whole rocky bank and back into the cove, only caught 1 little LMB. Headed over to Jordan at about 9:30 and caught a little spot and 2 more small LMB. Never fished up there before, reminds me of lakes up north with the super clear water.

Carried 2 poles a 7' MH with 12lb fluoro. Pitched a jig/craw with it to the tress and bushes both places, and slung a white spinnerbait out about as far as I could to get to deeper water at Jordan. All 3 bites at Jordan came on the spinnerbait.

Other pole wat a 6'6" Med with 6lb flouro. Threw a small H20 shad crankbait all up and down the rocks at Buck, and through some of the sparse vegetation. Caught the 1 LMB right next to a stickup with it.

Probably out there I should just leave the 6lb flouro at home, it's my ponds in town set up where getting a 2.5lb bass is a good one, but it was easy just to crank around the open water and then drop my other rod and flip to cover.

Never banked fished Ray Bob before. Is there any spots that I can catch crappie from the bank? Like for ex. Creeks etc?

Pm me if not want the world to see. I will give you some of my spots in return.

I heard that Resh. This time of year fish are following bait the majority of the time so u have to work. But...when u find them they are usually multiples. Try small 1.5 squarebills in a white with black stripe color. Spinnerbaits dual blade with willowleafs. A hint of chartruse wont hurt!

Jigs work well in rocks but i think u would have a better chance with a carolina rig and baby brush hog. Dont forget top water this time of year. Especially around the rocks.

Sounds good sir thanks! thumb Fished morgan crossing tonight and had my first encounter with a real light t rigged baby brush hog, caught a couple nice ones. I'm real familiar with the white double willow spinnerbaits, been using those for years along with c or t rig lizards or worms. Getting used to the crankin down here, as well as creature baits, never really used them up north. Topwater for me usually means frogs or buzzbaits, never caught anything on a stick bait or popper, probably should branch out to those also

Yellow Magic, PopR, Rico or Lil Sammie works well out here...stick to 4" or smaller and typically white/clear/silver/blue works well...some sort of that combination...torpedos have worked well this year too when fishing submerged vegetation.

Morgan Crossing is a nice place. Watch out for snakes out there....We've seen some really big moccs out there.

Thanks I'll try it!

yeah, I think I met you when we fished the bank tourney out there last year, wasn't that you any another guy that saw that huge snake in the northeast corner? Guy thought it was a log till it moved? bolt I watched my step carefully, vegetation is pretty thick around the shore for sure.

This snake? roflmao

I was the one who thought it was a stick at first. Made me a little uncomfortable after making a few casts then realizing it was by my feet..... Not sure what kind of snake though might not even be venomous.

There is descent fish at Morgans Crossings and now that more houses are going up, I think most of those guys (snakes) won't be around as much. Not to say don't watch your step, because I still do, but it's still a great place to go.

Caught this one at Morgans Crossings a few weeks back.
