Well I went out to Waco saturday afternoon, set up on a brushpile and my troll motor would not work. I could switch it to constant and it works like a champ. Once I switched it to use the foot switch, nothing. Any ideas what needs to be replaced or where I can look for advice? Very frustrated.

May be mother board or bad switch. Post your location and I'm sure someone will chime in for the best location to get it checked out.

Probably just a bad switch...that is not uncommon in a situation like this. You could also try spraying a little WD40 in the switch area to see if the switch is just not engaging all the way over when you push it.

When mine did that it was the mother board. I ordered it from Allstar 214)931-3240 and replaced it myself and it has worked perfect ever since. I'd start with the switch and if that's not it, change out the mother board.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Ok, thanks for the info. Gonna try completely bypassing the switch.

Hope you had a great birthday! Probably just a bad switch...that is not uncommon in a situation like this. You could also try spraying a little WD40 in the switch area to see if the switch is just not engaging all the way over when you push it.

Well it was the switch. Ordered one for 15.00. Glad it was just the switch. Electrical stuff can get frustrating in a hurry.
