Fished Hubbard yesterday morning before the tackle demo at Clark's Tackle. Fish were holding timber from 12 - 25' primarily two cranks off the bottom. Bigger fish were in the deeper depths. We fished BoneHead Tackle "Stump Bugs" on 1/16 head all weekend. Yesterday's yield on Hubbard was 33 keepers. Left them biting at 11:30 a.m. Same pattern on Lavon today.

You did a lot better than I did. I managed 7 with the same attempted pattern on Lavon. The first tree I popped two and then grinded away to catch 5 more keepers. I fished 2:30-5:30.

I fished Lavon on Saturday and found some in 13-15' of water. They were a weird bite for me. I wasn't getting bit unless I had two things going on: 1st I had to have a crappie nibble on the hook. 2nd the jig had to be on the bottom and a little hop was what triggered them. That was a little different for me, but figured it out and put some in the box.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

That was a little different for me, but figured it out and put some in the box. Your absolutely right. Two things prompted the most consistent bite. They'd tick it when suspended in the water column to wound then I'd let the 1/16 fall a bit after feeling a tick to simulate a stunned bait fish then thump. And letting the 1/16 fall by picking it up just off the bottom would also prompt a thump.
