Spent the weekend down South, for those of you that live down there I hate you in a good way. I love it down there and got to spend a day floating the Colorado with my Cousin. Neither one of us had paddled this section and we bit off more than we could chew and unfortunately we spent the last 4hrs just paddling to make it out and didn't get to fish some good water. Next time we will start earlier. We did have headlamps packed and needed them. The fishing was great, poppers, streamers, beadheads all had their moments of glory. Good variety of fish were caught, no trophies but lots of action. Few big gar followed my streamer to the kayak and would snap, but never a hookup. You always hear that bass will eat Sunfish or Crappie when on the line, this happened when I had a Redbreast on, a nice Guad came out of the weeds and grabbed him for a little while, fun tug of war till he let go. Can't wait to do it all again.

You know it's good when you catch this in the first 100yards

Wasn't going below this

I have fished the part between Austin and Bastrop. Also the Marble Falls area below the Maxwell Dam.
