Went to GV today with Bobby and Ron. Started off sandbass fishing. Caught 22 and Bobby had to leave. Ron and I went after some cats. N side of the lake. 500 yards west of the damn. I will post exact coordinates later. Baited a spot about 25 yards off shore. Threw out some range cubes and Milo. Took about 30 min and started getting bit. I used Stubbys and Ron was using a dead shad. He switched when I had him down 3-4 to nothing. He started hitting bit also. We caught 12 I think in about and hour and had to cal it a day. 4 keppers all released. Probably had 30 good bites in that hour. 13-15 fow dropping quickly into 30. Baited another hole at Kattie Woods. Didn't fish it but will post those coordinates later also. Baited with burlap bag with 15 lbs range cubes. Marked with a Gatorade bottle

Good report, glad you caught some fish. I recently moved to Grapevine from Richardson and have been exploring the coves in my kayak. Tried for cats this past weekend and caught a nice channel. Glad to see there are other folks out there looking for them.

It was a nice trip, saw a gentlemen launch from Katy and within 10 minutes he was back, I asked him why he came back so fast and he pointed to the 30lb blue he caught and said he was done for the day. He caught a live shad from the bubbler, threw it out and within minutes landed the kitty

Tom,you can get to both of those spots in the yak. One on S side launch at Kattie Woods
