Anyone been in the last week? Going Monday morning and looking for a recent fishing report. Weather should be great. Haven't been in a while and really looking forward to it.

Haven't been below PK lately but below Whitney it is good. The discharge below PK shows 141 cfs. If you are going a short ways up or down you should be fine, but if you are going down aways I would imagine there would be some dragging. I bet you can catch some fish in this cooler weather.

My buddy and I put in at Hwy 16 bridge yesterday and went towards the dam. We caught fish from sunrise to about 1:30 when we left. He caught one nice sized LMB and we both caught some keep sized stripers. We both caught a bunch of stripers in the 10" range as well as a few smallmouths and sunfish. I'm not sure what is going on but we saw numerous dead/floating large stripers.

FWBanger, there were several striper below Whitney dead and swimming around looking very sickly. Wonder if it's the heat/lack of oxygen and hopefully not a virus.

The little ones were very spunky, it just seemed like the big ones that were dying off. Whatever it is I'm hoping that some colder weather and rain will help them out.

Rapala black over chrome minnow, the chartreuse-blue-pink-clear chug n' spook. I used a yellow sally fly and a yellow wooly booger with my fly rod. There's still a few nice stripers in there and a ton of little ones.

I went two weeks ago and fished down from the hwy 16 bridge about 1.5 miles. I did well on a black over gold Rapala minnow and pumpkin seed green soft plastics fished weightless. The rapala worked in the areas with more current, thrown towards the bank and retrieved towards the middle. The soft plastics worked in the areas with slower water.
Some other guys have had good luck on soft plastics swimbaits in white or shad colors.

We did ok but didn't tear them up either. We fished down river and only saw one dead striper. I caught a nice 20" one right at the bridge on top water right when the sun was coming up. We are suppose to get a lot of rain so hopefully it washes away any GA starting to bloom, if that's what it is.
