Nice fish. Maybe time to invest in some rod holders.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

+1...looks like a slot fish. A lot of people don't know but Lewisville has a 30 - 45" slot on blue catfish.

Nice fish, always fun to see a rod double over when a nice blue slams it while drifting.

Great fish friend! Props! But like others said, keep an eye on the slot rules. Stringing him up alone can catch you a big fine.

Fish caught and immediately released are not considered to be in your possession. Any fish not immediately released that are retained by using any type of holding device such as stringer, cooler, livewell, or bucket are considered in your possession and must adhere to established protected length and bag limits.

Please explain the Stringer rule ....... Lewisville is a bluecat slot lake. No fish between 30 and 45 inches can be kept.

So the stringer itself is not illegal, just putting a slot fish on a stringer and retaining it is?
Is it possible to do something your whole life and still be an ameteur?

As for the stringer : I put the fish on the stringer to keep alive while we got the camera out for the pic. I fish Lewisville often and the fish was released , as was the 40# 35.5"blue posted before. People at the crappie barge witnessed the release.

Getting more complicated all the time. More this, more don't do that. Cant do that. Even when your legal. Have to explain your way thru a Picture here. Now-a-Days.

Not complicated at all. If the Gw would have been at the barge it would have been a $500 fine. When he put it on a stringer, it became an illegal fish!!
