The name says it all, its magic! It is the first bait that I bought that costed that much, thinking I had been suckered until the first time I fished it. Now I have no less than 25 of them in my boat at all times.

Opinions really do not matter in this case. It just works better than most for some reason. The fish seem to like it better and that is what matters most.
I like the Yellow magic, Iovino Splash it, and the Rico. Same Same

To add to the above. Part of the action that must make a difference is you can spit water with the bait, walk the dog with the bait, chug it and galumphk (gurgle) it. It makes a LOT of different noises depending on how you work it. You can spit the water about 5-7' with it when you top the bait, gurgle it like a chug bug (only lousder) and you can do a LOT of fish catching with it. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Just push the button and strip the line off! Guess I'm an "under thinker" :-). Lol I didn't know there was any other way. . .

I would think spool tension would be what prevented a backlash. Not sure how loosening a drag on a reel not under load really prevents a backlash?

Well, I agree and in the future I'll tighten the spool tension knob rather that loosening the drag ... but either method is effective in preventing a backlash when rapidly taking old line off your reel. I remove line rapidly by wrapping it from the web of my hand to my arm above my elbow. If you do this with just the button pushed I'll assure you a backlash.

If you're planning on catching big fish using the YM, you better replace the hooks

If you loosen the drag when removing old line you won't have a backlash while taking the line off. If you just push the button your going to get several back lashes before you pull the old line off. Just a trick I was taught long ago ... works well but you've got to remember to retighten. Get you one of these. Worth it! As for the YM I like them but what would be a better replacement hook and size?

It is the way the tail sits deeper in the water than most do and it probably doesn't hurt that its 20$ those bass eat up the expensive lures
