Is it worth it to get a Martin's map for Fork?
I have several of the off the shelf maps, but seems like I hear a lot about how great Martin's maps are.
Anyone?
PM me to let me know how it was!

For what it's worth, here are some things I've noticed about the Martins map that I got recently versus the Hook-n-Line maps I have: > Martin's map has an incredible amount of detail. > The color of the water and the font used to identify underwater details are too close for these old eyes to easily read. It can be read but it's not as easy. > Martin's map has a GPS grid that that you can use to find coordinates anywhere on the lake. The Hook-n-Line map has tables that have the coordinates for points of interest listed. If I want to find a place like the Windmill on Ray Roberts, I scan the table for the Windmill and there are the GPS coordinates. > The Martin's map is in a soft laminate that is rolled, not folded so, to me, it's not as easy to travel with, open on a table, etc.
Bottom line: Make the Tackle Monkey happy and buy the Martin's map. It definitely has lots of info and I bet that it has some details that you won't see in other maps.

Martin's Map is the kind of map you sit and study for hours. It's got a ton of historic detail (roadbeds, pond dams, etc.). It's a 2-piece 2-sided map (4 sides total). One side has the entire lake; the other 3 sides have zoomed in sections of the lake.
Because of that, I don't think it's a good map to carry in the boat but I have spent many hours sitting on my couch studying it.
I HIGHLY recommend it.
