Have noticed on my recent trips that the white bass tend to hit my baits (Mepps #2 and #4 - thanks DC) closer to the surface, whereas in the summer they are obviously on or near the bottom. In early summer (May) they also hit towards the top, mainly on Rattle-Traps. Pretty new to this type of fishing. During the fall and cooler months, do the fish gravitate more towards the surface?

Thanks for your help.
