Sea Rim is just west of Sabine Pass. Reds spawn near the passes along the Gulf each October. They will be thick through the next few weeks.

I kid!! I'd like to catch some of those sometime. Got one sbout 8" long in Florida years ago and that's it for redfish. Did catch a snook about 5lbs I swear woulda weighed 20-30 when I was reeling it in!

Roachie,
We used to make 4-5 trips a year down there.
Excellent fishing thumb
I had a pop-up camper that was my beach front motel. We'd camp approx. 1/4 mile north of Searim State Park and use their showers.
I have many a story about catching Bull Red & Specs in the surf, and we'd catch our "Eater" reds off the oyster shell/concrete wall of the inlet approx. 400 yds out from the Coast Guard boat parking spot.
I'd catch a crab as soon as we got there and catch a Black Drum before going out just in front of the Coast Guard boat. They were a blast, 40-50#'s on a regular bass rod with 15# Trilene Big Game.
Once I had set the hook, I'd put the butt of my rod under my belt, put the rod on the inside of my elbow, light a cig and wait for it to tire out thumb
