11 keepers - bunch of short fish - 8 - 9.75 inches
10-13 FOW
all on jigs - switched to heavier jig head to try and get past the 8 inch large mouths
Had to watch your line - very light bite - often felt nothing - fish was just on there when line was raised
vertical jigging and cast out with slow retrieve bouncing off the bottom
both techniques worked equally well
I also put out some brush - by myself - that was a chore, pain in the butt - it is a 2 man job

Lots of short fish = Lewisville should be good for next couple of years

Your report pretty much mirrors my experience the last few weeks -- except for the 11 keepers! I'm lucky to get out with 3.

Super light bight in relatively shallow water and TONS of small fish. Some days I've been catching fish as shallow as 3 feet deep in 10 foot of water. I wouldn't even reel, just drop my line in and pull a small crappie out. Almost like bluegill fishing. No porkers from those groups, however.

And someone really needs to do something about Lake Lewisville's LMB problem, those little stinkers are getting annoying. laugh

Great job!!!
I put out a bunch of Christmas trees 1 year and there was houses across the street from the ramp I was using. I had the boat loaded with trees and the back of my truck loaded with more. I launch and left my truck on the ramp since it was like January 2nd and I was only going about 100 yards to sink them. As I was sinking the 2nd load I look back at the ramp at a Hickory Creek police car was sitting by my truck and the cop was looking at my truck. I pull up and ask him if there was a problem and he was very polite and asked what I was doing. So I told him sinking Christmas trees. He laughed and said someone in the houses across the street had called the police and said that I was sinking fully ornamented Christmas trees in the lake. Naturally I asked the cop " shouldn't the fish enjoy the lights and ornaments too"??
He laughed and left. The only problem is that I didn't have a extention cord long enough to light up the lights.....
