Thank you rrhyne56! I am pretty proud of Knuckles and his willingness to share this skill with others. He has only been heavily fly fishing since May and is probably a better fly fisherman than me, lol! I wouldn't have it any other way though!
His buddy Got Chum looks pretty happy in the picture! He now understands why Knuckles and I have a fly rod rather than our bait casters 9 times out of 10, when we fish with him.

Thanks for the story. I think doing just the way Knuckles did it was a way to help others enjoy fly fishing. Many people are reluctant to try it because it is different that what they are comfortable with. Teaching other how to fly fish is a great way to have more friends that can be life long fly fishing buddies. I wish someone had taken the time to show me how to fly fish 50 years ago. Only picked it up a few months ago and I am so grateful to the older gentleman that spent time and encouraged me to pickup that fly rod for the first time. Now my quest is to help others enjoy fly fishing!

Just an update. My son's buddy has ordered his first fly rod from Cabela's using his own allowance. We got another young one in the fly fishing community!

Hey Lloyd! We need to come up with a time to go beat the water and terrify some fish on the Brazos! We have a couple more weeks of fall baseball, then we will have all sorts of free time. Something tells me, I can get a couple of young men to come along, lol.

FishyB Now that sounds like a great idea! Just holler when you're ready.
