Was fishing the north end of Palestine yesterday (Kickapoo area), and the channel was flowing north. Sucking me up into it. Never seen that before! Any idea why this is happening? I haven't been on the South end in quite some time, but I bet there's nothing coming over the spillway...

Water is LOW right now. Barely got my boat in at 315.

Was there a fairly strong north wind right before your trip that let up? It could have "pushed" and "stacked" water from the shallow upper end of the lake toward the lower end. Then when the wind stops, or turns around and blows from the south, the water would flow back to equilibrium. Only seems to happen in large shallow areas of a lake.

^^ Yup. Most likely backwash from the wind pushing the water out into the main lake. I've seen it before too, and only in shallow areas of lakes.

It can raise or lower the lake level 6" on either end depending on the strong wind direction
