I HAVE A 25 HP MERCURY 99/98 2 STROKE RUNS GREAT . FORWARD REVERSE NOT AT ALL ITS ALL ON SHIFTER ? IS THIS A EASY FIX? I AM NEW TO FORUM . ANY INSIGHT OR EXPERTISE ? THANKS MUCH!

I like my 2-stroke 8hp tohatsu. I'm curious what you didn't like about the 9.8? 2-strokes certainly have move power per weight but I think 4-stroke is about all there is now.

Most power loss, top speed is about the same but she takes a while to get on plane, I bought a new 15 go merc and love it so far, I'll keep the 9.8 as a back up I guess

9.9s are usually restricted 15 fp... (carb)
