I'll be getting a new boat this week and I have the choice of either blades or talons. So the question I am asking yall is which would you prefer?

Both are very good, talons are quicker and go straight down... Bonus to me

They arent any lighter if you add in the pumps you have to moint in the battery compartment, then when you pop a hose and soak everything with oil it sucks

I just watched a video on how the talon works exactly. What happens if you're dealing with a completely rock bottom...

Are there any major differences in maintenance costs for replacement parts like bushings and hoses?

Talons are straight out noisy! Also they do rob performance worst that powerpoles. The weight is past the fulcrum. Main reason I love blades.
5min till you HAVE TO LEAVE for weigh in. You catch a 6pounder. Drop your poles or talons. Cull fish, pick up trolling motor, strap down for a hard run. Bump your shallow water anchor button and nothing. At all. No worky or one out of the 2 will not come up. Talons equals finding the wrench and trying to crank it back up. You are on second of time. Power pole - cut the hose and pull it up. Hog tie it and we are off. This is why I chose powerpole. Over time spend in a boat simplicity is nice!
