I've never owned the Talons. I'm on my 4th set of PP's (4 different boats) and don't see any reason to change what isn't broken.

Definitely a Chevy / ford debate. I choose the talons after talking with a lot of boat mechanics and folks that work on them. Talons are very easy to install yourself, just hook two wires to a battery. Just seem simpler and the 12 footers are sweet.

I have dual talons mounted off the jackplate. They are a little noisy, but I like the fact that everything is self contained. Electric motors. No pumps or hoses. I left one down on purpose to test how strong the talon was to see what would happen if I left it down by accident. Very impressed with the quality and strength. They weigh about 65 pounds each for the 12' and brackets are about 25 each. I don't have to worry about casting around them, I fish from the front deck. I am sure power poles are just as good. Matter of preference.

Blades. They have taken care of stuff for me that was out of warranty for free. Great customer service.

Up early for Friday fishing with some Buds.

Chevy with Talons for me.

I have one eight footer and fish solo most of the time so it doesn't get in my way. Pulled my big anchor out and culled some tackle and now weight about the same as before. I have never had a problem with it.

Only problem, common in my life, I wish it was longer!

I have had both and they both do the job. The 10' talon is about 20" shorter in height than the same blade, and on my current rig the additional height of the pp would not work getting in and out of my garage.

I always find the comments on a Blades v Talon post interesting. The PowerPole guys always talk about the great customer service of PowerPole. Well, I owned two Talons. I have no idea about the Talon customer service. They never broke. I never had to call them.

I'm also interested in folks comments. Have a 19 ' skeeter with a 150. Can only afford 1. I have heard the weight of the talon is more than the PP. Thought if we had the PP, the pump could be mounted opposite of center than the side with PP, although I do not know if they pump and blade unit weigh the same.
I do like the fact the talon is self contained.

Whichever u want. Power poles cause they dont get stuck. If they do just start driving and click the button up. Never had an issue. I have "heard" talons on other boats before.

To help you guys save some money. The website called Reds Gear has talons at a great price I paid 1558.00 for a 12' talon. then they give you rewards points 1200 points equal 60.00. so when I ordered the second one I paid 1498.00. Shipped in 3 days on my front porch in 5. JUST FYI save some money or don't.

I have never owned a Talon so can't speak about a direct personal experience with them. But here is what I went off of when making the same decision. I was very interested in the Talons because they had a 12' model. So I called a very good local dealer who sells and installs a lot of BOTH. His answer to me was crystal clear. He said almost word for word "Do not buy the Talons because you will be back here in a few months to get them replaced with power poles." When I asked why, he said from what his customers had told him it was a mixed bag but the #1 complaint was the Talons would get stuck in the down position in the mud a lot. The other main reason had something to do with the pulley system having issues.

I have really enjoyed my PP's but do wish there was someway to have a 12' model but that would look awful funny on the back of a boat.

What about the EVO 13 and 20 footers. Any feedback on them yet?

I bought an 8' talon from my very good friend for a deal so I went that route. Don't get me wrong it does the job. But I have also used pp and I'll say I like them better. Not as much noise, I think they preform a little better and I just flat out think they look cooler
