Who exactly submits these reports? While I don't check on them for anything other than current water temp, they still seem so inaccurate. It appears that whoever is writing them is just copying and pasting from every other lake in that general area. Also what kind of scale are they using when they write that the fishing for a particular lake is "slow" or "good" or "fair"?
I asked a game warden friend of mine in Oklahoma about their fishing reports and he said it is usually the warden working the lake and he may or may not have talked to anyone. Sometimes they ask one fisherman they are checking at the ramp and enter whatever report he tells them. He's even told me that there have been guys that have just "mailed in" a report while on vacation so that there is a current report. Does this happen with TPWD?
I realize that every lake can't have its own version of FLT Flash report but it would be nice to see accurate water temp range as well as what ramps are useable every week.

They are submitted by guides, local anglers and the writer themselves. They are compiled weekly and then put into the format you see. If a lake does not have someone to provide a report you will see it listed as no report available. The info is updated weekly BTW.

If ramps are not usable, if there are water hazards or if certain restrictions are implemented you will see that listed as well. You will get clarity, water level, temp range and a brief report for each species of gamefish when possible.

Yes, my bad. I thought it was the same person asking; but I was wrong. Here's the first one. (Something appears to be wrong with the shortcut link.)

I haven't been on this site in a while so I missed the question from September and my search didn't reveal the previously asked question until I copied and pasted the thread mentioned by grout scout. That answers my question. Thanks for the input.

This is immediately what I thought of. And in the middle of the spawn the reports say to fish dd22's off of main lake points. Whoever provides the one for Fork seems to be a Megabass fan.

Wonder who that fork reporter may be?? Lol!! Does he mention Xcite baits, too? Lol! Lots of times the reports are pretty accurate. Although, I've never seen a watermelon seed Dd22

There always seems to be a correlation between what is on the report and the excess inventory at the local tackle shop. Lol

So the whole lake spawns at the same time? Who knew? roflmao

That being said I can guarantee you in 3 years that has never been listed on Fork during the spawn.
