I was napping on the pier because fishing was slow. A guy passed by and said they were killing the reds at the end of the pier but they were small. I was checking football scores on my phone when the clicker on my heavy rod and reel went off. As I grabbed for it I noticed the rod between my legs was bent. I gave one rod to the guy I had just spoken to and I had the heavier rod. Both fish were running and pulling drag. I thought I would lose mine because it headed under the pier but I was able to bring it out. We landed both fish. The guy who helped said it was his first redfish.
