Here is a great rig for crappie, I tried it and it works fantastic, it also has the best advantage of not having to rig from scratch everytime you lose your rig do to snags. I normally catch very few crappie for the whole year. I use this a couple of weeks ago and I caught 6 nice ones. Which for me is awesome. Usually I might catch one a month. Hope this helps someone who likes to crappie fish without the hassle. I have made over 150 rigs so far as for me this is the way I am going to go for now. I am experimenting with different jigs on the bottom, like Slab Daddy's, they seem to like the pink/chartreuse/pink. I haven't tried it yet but I am going to try using the Thump Buddys (little frogs). They work pretty good by themselves. Here is the u tube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13056qp-e7YEnjoy I have seen this Video before and used this exact rig! and it works GREAT ! especially on bridge pillings

I didn't see anyone suggest bluegrass. In my opinion it's a universal color that catches on most any lake.
My favorite is whatever the crappie are biting as they tend to change their minds frequently. Salt n Pepper has worked well for me for the last few months.
Good luck and tight lines.

They will always eat a minnow, don't worry about the color either.
Size matters.

LOL, you know me too well. I fer sure like white, and with all the flash available, it makes for a deadly combo. Thank you for the comment, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your creations, it's been too long... Ok, a little sompin in white for breast cancer awareness month. This a good combo to keep in your jig box. Its my go to in the spring. When we found out my bride has breast cancer, the guys on another board named it positive pink. Hope it works for you too...

Think I still got one of those in my box from the swap. Last weekend, i carpeted the attic and gonna build me a tying bench up there, eventually. I need to tye some, getting pretty thin, at least on my go to colors, Gonna go lose a few more in the morning. I got supplies to build me another pole, as well. This one a 9' with a fly reel seat.
