Hey guys, I taking my 6 yr boy out fishing on Joe Pool this Saturday in the kid tournament. I've never been on Joe Pool. Would anyone be as kind to give me some pointers on the lake. The kids can weight in Bass, sandbass or crappie. Any info on the lake is appreciated. Feel free to PM me also.
Thanks, Weston

Stick to the banks for active bass fishing. You will easily catch your limit. I don't know if your fishing from the bank or on a boat or from where but with the weather pattern there are tons of bass in the shallow areas.
Get some shakey head/ football heads from Wal-Mart or Dicks (They are black with a red hook have an oval shaped jig head and big red eyes). Screw a 4 inch Yamamoto Watermelon or Pumpkin and pierce the body so it fishes weedless. Drag it on the floor. Fish them in grass that's covered by water.
There are some Crme Lure worms that are pre-rigged with two hooks and propellers. Texas rig it and drag/pop it on the floor. Red Lizard was effective over rocky bottoms.
A white colored top water works good too over rocky shallows.
A green frog is killing it this time of year. You might want to try a bright yellow or a sand color. Small frogs are better than really big ones. Swim them with a slow constant retrieve. Pull three times so the head "bobs" in the water, crank the slack and continue.
I've seen greens, reds, and yellows work. They all had flakes in it except the red which was bright translucent red with a solid bright red tail. There is a spray bottle of Bass Attractant that is solid black with fancy cursive writing. I swear it is increasing my bites. I got it in Craw/Shad oil but they have it in Garlic too. I've never tried the garlic for bass.
For Sandbass you want some Road Runners with white grubs on them. Fish them slow and give them time to sink. This will also catch bass. I assume white Road Runners will get you Crappies too.
