I've never been and I've never specifically targeted spotted bass, but I've read that they typically like smaller baits and hang out a bit deeper than large mouth. Does anyone have any tips for Cypress Springs?

I catch alot of spotted bass. Lures you would throw for smallies work well on spots-tubes especially. They inhabit many of the same areas as smallies or largemouth and as you said-usually a bit deeper than largemouth. Look for rocky points.
Cypress I've never fished so no help there.

Cypress is full of them. Fish however you like and you will catch spots.

You can pull up to almost any area you want to fish on Cypress right now and catch all the spots you want. crank baits, c-rigs, weightless, anything. Anything with some chartreuse will also help you get bit a little more.
Do me a favor and keep and eat your limit of 5 spots per person if you like to eat fresh fish. They are actually very tasty and we need to do what we can to thin the herd of spots out there. We got a nice 70,000 fingerling stocking of Florida strain fish this year hoping to get a better balance down the road.

Like was said above the spots on Cypress will hit whatever you have in your tackle box. You can catch them in 30ft or 3 inches of water!

Main lake points. Early up shallow with a rattletrap, move out during the day with cranks and shaky heads. Watermelon chartreuse is a good soft plastic color
