I hate my trolling motor. It's an improperly installed fotrex, and I hate it. It's twisted, so it never sits back into it's groove. It gets stuck down, and I find myself yanking on the rope, praying it doesn't break or I fall in, and every time I deploy or stow, because of the twist, it knocks my new elite 7 HDI chirp transducer. I hate the tall foot pedal.

A replacement is in order.

I would LOVE one of the new minnkotas with a remote, possibly auto deploy.

The problem is the transducer wire.

I hate to give up my chirp using the built in transducer.

Has anyone found a way around this?

The Fortrex is one of the most popular trolling motors available. Can you reinstall your Fortrex properly and eliminate the twist?

I know a lot of people own them, but it drives me batty. Also strongly dislike the height of the foot pedal.

If i went cable steer again, it would be a motorguide tour all the way.
