I got a chance to spend a few hours on Canyon Lake yesterday afternoon. Located several stickups and brush piles holding crappie. Wound up catching 40 - mostly unders but a few (maybe 10)nice keepers mixed in. Also caught 16 bass - mostly yearlings. All fish were caught on Jigum Jigs Halo Majic 1/8 oz in 10-13 FOW. The wind was strong all day and about wore me out trying to stay on the fish. The wind grabbed up my bright yellow 9-foot umbrella (I thought about securing it but got distracted by fish) - that thing sunk in 28 FOW in about .4 seconds. Never found it on DI or SI. Another lesson learned.

Thanks for the update. Canyon will really turn on once late fall and winter set in!

I fished about a half mile upriver. Fish were located on one of the flats across from a deep water bend in the river...
