I love the Mitchell reels... You can get an Advocet silver 4000 for about 30$... I've caught red drum up too a 22lb blue all on 12lb test. Drag works great on these reels and no sign of slowing down... Great reel for the price! The 300 pro is no let down either for the extra money.

I've had a few Quatum Optix 60's going on 4-5 years now - no issues. Have caught Teens, 20's,30's and occassional low 40's Lbrs on these no issues. ( mostly teens tho).

For rod holders on a boat, this is an inexpensive rig that works great.
Academy Shimano FX 7 foot for 12.99.
Shakespeare Tidewater 37.99 at Walmart. The Tidewater has a great clicker and a big handle. Does a good job on Big Fish. It isn't great for long casts though. In a rod holder on my boat, they do the trick for right at $50.
