My 997 GPS will work for a little bit and then lose signal. I have to turn it off and then back on and it will work for a little while and stop working again. Anybody know what the problem could be.

The only time I have had something like that happen is when I selected for WAAS to be required. I learned that it will find if anyway if it is available so that was my fix.

mine did this too when i first got it it turned out it was not set in the little bracket in the back right and it would wiggle loose when hitting some rough water i took it apart took my time putting it back together and never had an issue with it again i dont even have mine mounted its just lays up behind the unit along with the weather sensor

It only seems to do it when it gets hot. Fished allday yesterday and had problems allday. Got out there right at daylight today and never did it till about 11:30 or so. Any ideas.

My 899 started doing it today. Kept flashing that there was no gps signal. Would flash it every couple of minutes but the map was working fine as well as marking spots. Not sure why it started. I'm using the internal antenna so it isn't a plug

meter your battery when it goes out again, if it works for a bit than goes out I would check the battery .. but doesn't the 997 have an indicator for low power ?

you can turn the setting on to display your voltage. My unit did similar to yours one day and has been working fine ever since. Never figured out the cause
