 Finally got my 10" Red Ear Sunfish

I've been trying for over a year now to land another fish that qualifies for a big fish award and I finally did it last weekend on accident ha. While fishing for largemouth in my favorite spot I hooked this monster Red Ear. I've caught quite a few different 9"+ sunfish out here on bass lures but this is the first to go 10+ and it went right at 10.25". Going back this weekend to try for a few more so I can get a cool mount made to hang above the big fish award, and next to my other one! Nice fish and Congratulations on your Big Fish Award!  How many do you have for your Elite Angler?  Again super fish.  Side Note: Bryan Russell (Fish Mounter) does GREAT replication work! He has done all of my Sunfish mounts and is very reasonable in his prices. His number is 904-716-7048. If you want someone local Belton Banger (Fish Bones Replication Mounts) does Great work also. His number is 254-913-4392.

Just one other Big Fish Award so far and it was a Striped Bass. I've actually already got a great Taxidermist though and there isn't a better guy to have mount a fish than Bill Muntz at Fin and Bones Taxidermy in my opinion. He did my last Big Fish Award and will be my only taxidermist until he retires from it. Thanks for the advice though.

Awesome Mount. The second artist I mentioned was Bill Muntz. I made a mistake and called his studio Fish and Bones. It is Fin and Bones.  I also feel the same about Bryan (Fish Mounter). He has done six of mine including a 12.50 lbs bass. Will most likely stay with him until he retires also. Again super fish. You only have three to go to get Elite.

Ha, I actually thought you were talking about Fish Scale Taxidermy for some reason and I've heard some pretty bad things regarding that guy. Hopefully I can luck out and land a 10" bluegill this weekend from the same spot, two "Big Fish" on one mount would be too awesome. (and cost effective lol)

I also caught a bass from this same spot that would have qualified for a Big Fish Award, but I didn't know about the awards at the time, that's actually why I was there bass fishing.
