Never gave them much thought but went out this morning here in Las Colinas and caught 13 bass in 3 hours using a rooster tail. They were all small, prob nothing bigger than about 1.5lbs but was def fun!

Rooster tail is a great lure. As are the Blue Fox inline spinners as well. They will catch many different species as well. I like them for the fall when the vegetation dies off and the bass start chasing the bait fish. October has historically been the best month in my memory for using them. For some strange reason I tend to catch a lot catfish on them this time of year. The 1/16 ounce are great on light line for trout as well.

Brothers, you are "preaching to the choir!" Been using them successfully for years! Bass, sunfish, white bass, hybrids, crappie, and yes, catfish! One of the most versatile lures on the market. Have even caught sand and speckled trout with them down on the Texas coast. The Blue Fox Fliptail, the one that comes 5 for six bucks at WalMart, is a perfect imitation of the Rooster Tail, and catches as many fish!~

Always keep a few Rooster Tails in my tackle box. They simply seem to catch fish anytime of the year! thumb

Side Note: Sounds like you had a good day! cheers
