Caught 20+ perch this morning. Put the 14ft catfish slayer in the lake got about 3 miles north of boat ramp and started fishing. Them the wind picked up so I was heading back to calmer waters and the motor died. Can't get it to hold a prime. Get blown into a corner and took on water. Got it drained fought the 4 ft waves in chest deep water. Got past the corner and paddled 3 miles to the ramp.

What I'm really wondering is how do yall keep from getting hung up while drifting I use a 3 way rig with circle hook and get hung up all the time !

Never been much of a fan for that rig. I use the Sante rig drifting and anchored. Might get it a try. thumb

Yesterday just got dang windy all of a sudden. I was going to go crappie fishing on Lavon, and we called it off.

I only use a 3 way rig bank fishing on a creek or river. If it goes into the water untangled, the current keeps it straight. I don't like it for anything else.

Ok thanks guys I'll give it a try.

Yea yesterday I almost left the boat at the dock and all my fishing stuff in it. Kinda felt stranded another boat passed and they just drove on by. but we made it work. That north wind was killer in a little boat with motor problems.

Try to use as little weight as possible when drifting reguardless of the rig you use. 1 oz or less is usually best and seem to hang less or at least pull free a little easier.

Catch and release into the grease!
