It's been a while since posting...been moving the past few months. The good news is my new place is 8 minutes from the Dunlap ramp. Anyway...went to Dunlap Monday. Water temp mid 70s and water clear upper end as usual. Fished 8 til noon with nightcrawlers on the bottom, and all varieties of sunfish were extremely active.(but small) Only caught 2 decent redear and a 2.5 lb catfish. The bite is nothing like last years big redear action. Went to Fayette yesterday with high hopes based on recent post. I have been fishing Fayette since the day it opened (for bass) in the 1970s, but this is the 1st trip targeting redear. Tried several old ponds, creek channels, the concrete dike, the warm water outlet, buzzard point and various reedbeds. Maybe caught 10 perch and no redear. Water temp was mid 80s and fished worms on the bottom. Did accidentally catch one bass which was a trip on ultra light...see photo

Thanks for the report "Vogey"! I was on the lake yesterday after fishing the Comal River. Comal bite was on FIRE! The Dunlap bite was good. Only fished Dunlap for about an hour and picked up some very nice Redear.

yes...I saw your post, and that's what got me inspired. What part of the lake were you fishing. I know the lake really well, so more detail would be appreciated...vogey
