I don't know if these are any good or not but figured I would give everyone a heads up. I just picked up a 10' and 11' from academy for only $7 each. I've never owned a jigging rod before but figured for that price they're worth trying. Any recommendations on a reel to go with them? Here's a link to the rod I'm talking about. B 'n' M rod

For that price, you can't go wrong that's for sure.

If your wanting a spinning reel, do a Google search for Diawa D Spin 500 B They are lightweight reels that I've been swapping over to. I can get 2 for approx. $32 which includes shipping.

I use that rod A LOT in the springtime with 1/16 oz jigs up shallow. The rod is incredibly lightweight and should be paired with a lightweight spinning/baitcasting reel to keep overall weight down and fishes best with 1/32 and 1/16 oz weight jigs. Great Buy For Sure!

Just left burleson academy, they have them but there not on sale. Ya I just happened to be returning something I bought at the Lewisville store over the weekend. The Lewisville store didn't have them on sale but the Flower Mound store did so it might just be luck of the draw. This time of the year they randomly throw their fishing gear on sale. Last year I got lucky and picked up a $130 all star rod up for $30. I ended up buying one of the reels tbox recommended off Amazon.

Just left burleson academy, they have them but there not on sale. Did you actually scan the rod while you was at Academy. I can't tell you how many good deals I have gotten by simply scanning items that were not marked. My best deals were 3 B&M Sharpshooter rods for 1 cent apiece and some 4 lb nanofil line for 98 cent a spool. I scan everything when I am at Academy. Reggie

IMHO the B&m is way too sensitive, light and good of jig pole too spider rig, with the heavy weight needed to stay in the kill zone while rigging the tip of the pole will probably be in the water. I picked 2 up of each one last week. Thinking it might be a cheap way to spider rig

Thanks for the input. Think I will keep the 10's and return the 11's.
