I have a friend who lives in argyle. he doesn't have a boat. he wants to go crappie fishing at ray Roberts. I do have a boat. it has been years since I have fished ray Roberts. does anyone think I might have some luck fishing buck creek? I was thinking that the crappie may have moved in the shallow water with the cooler weather we have had.

I've been catching them off COE brushpiles and did really well. They hit very good with minnows versus jigs. Not sure if they moved in shallow water yet. All fish caught in 20 to 25 fow. Good luck

Yeah they don't seem to be shallow yet, still deep based on my last trip a week ago.

I've been out numerous times this week and as previously noted I'm catching off brush piles 20-25' of water. Lots of shorts but usually leave with 6-10 nice keepers. All mine have been on minnows. Night action has been kinda lacking though mornings to noon have been the most productive. Hope this helps.

You need to invest in a small boat and get off the bank. You can do well from the bank in the spring but after the spawn the fish will be out of range.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Not necessarily , I catch crappie on Roberts in 10 feet during the summer and now , at night you go bridges especially right now with a bobber and minnow and catch you some, i know where catch some big blues now on Roberts from the bank
