They look very nice and well tied, but I don't take my chenille on a jig back that far. That is more like a fly tying type thing and most stop their chenille at or near the hook point or barb. However that is a personal type thing and you should tie it like you want it!

Thanks y'all....
Yeah Skip I have started tying back to the 1st bend of the hook to give the jig a little more bulk.
Some of the other colors have worked well tied like this, this is a new color combo for me hopefully it'll work as well....

Should work just fine and really the only time it really matters is mostly when a regular bend hook is used for a couple reasons. First if regular bend the hook point and shank distant apart is less than a Sickle and also the bend is a good bit farther back than a Sickle. The extra bend on the Sickle makes them a shorter overall hook.

I always say if you like it, tie it and fish it and shouldn't make any difference really!

Nice looking ties too!

Very nice jigs and the color will work. I stopped using sickle hooks not long ago, and went to a eagle claw 570 Aberdeen style hook. The reason was the hook point on the sickle is turned in to far. Most anyone that does not sell hooks that compare the two will be happy with what they have after looking them over. Just something ever one should see for them self's.

Thanks for the compliments...

Larry those are actually Eagleclaw "Lil Nasties" they seem to turn in a bit more than the sickle & I was concerned that it would hurt the hook up ratio, I think it actually improved the hook up ratio & is 9 times out of 10 buried in the roof of the mouth.
Out of 200 so far I've only had one hook to break versus several of the sickles when I used them.....
