I use Seaguar Red. it is cheaper than Invisix that is the reason why I chose it and have been using it for the last 3 years. I buy a 1000 yard spool and it lasts a good while.

15 red label 85% of the time. 20 red label when the cover is thicker or flipping.

Light Trig with smaller worms:
30lb braid main line to 15lb Red Label leader. Thick, nasty cover 20-25lb Red Label leader.
Braid main line to fluoro leader=high degree of sensitivity and easier hook set on long casts or if fishing deep.
Just change out the leader instead of the whole spool depending on cover.

Some of the things you don't mention are cover, water clarity and potential fish size. I'm gonna' want heavier line if I'm fishing an area with the potential to product a double-digit fish and especially if I'm fishing heavy cover or timber. Poor visibility (off-color water, lily pads, grass, etc.) lets you get away with a heavier line too. In a San Diego clear lake without much cover, you can get away with a much lighter line because you can let your drag wear them out. Here at Fork you want to turn their head and get them in the boat as soon as possible so I'm using the heaviest line I can still get bit on.

For those weights I use 12lb. Invisx, also obviously depending on cover you could go up or down.

Your last sentence is really the key to what I am looking for.
At the same time when you are getting ready to fish you start with a line type and weight when you do your set up.
So, at Fork / Falcon, when you want to get bit and turn their heads,,,,,,,where do you start with line type and weight when you are setting up ?

What I think I am seeing is 12/15# fluorocarbon as a general rule of thumb.
Since I use 20# on my 3/8oz big worm-deep water rig, 12-15# seems reasonable.
But why not mono ?

15 Invizx
It gives you better feel than mono.
It is supposed to be harder for the fish to see than mono.
It stretches less than most mono lines.
I like Invizx better than the Seguar Red but that's just me. The red was too wiry for me.
15 is relatively small in diameter but still pretty strong. If I were going to Falcon and getting bit by big fish all day I would have a spool of 20 Pound test with me if needed or switch to P-Line CXX in 15# test. CXX is one of the strongest lines I have ever used.

I completely agree, and for some reason I like the Invizx alot more than the Red Label. It has less memory and I have no issues with the Invizx. I started using 20# Invisx for deep water worm/jig fishing, and have used 17# & 15# for alot of other applications. Its great line IMO
