The all time best jerkbait rod is the cabelas tournament zx series topwater/jerkbait rod. I've been using it for a long time and it's extremely sensitive.

Smallmouth fight hard, Spotted bass are frequent, and Largemouth get fat.

I picked up an All Star jerk bait rod at a tackle shop at lake Amistad for $60 and it is a great rod for jerk baits, small cranks and small top waters.

By far the best I have owned is Power Tackle Pg 143, 6'10". Simply amazing for Jerkbaits!
