Went out to Lady Lavon on Saturday with the wifey. I crappie fish while she facebooks but, hey if that's she wants to do. It was a fun day. Every spot we went to held a few fish, we just had to keep hopping around. Ended up with 10 keepers in a couple hours (wifey got ready to go, lol.). 5 of them were toads and caught about 15 nine inch fish that were thrown back.

I found the fish about 12ft down in 15ft of water. All fish caught on Thermocline Jigs Mr. Fry's. I was using Black Emerald Shiner which I always use, and the new color Pearl Ice. I have been using this color for about a month now and wow what a difference it makes. It's kinda pearly on the bottom and sparkly on the top and the crappie kill it. It's my new go-to. Here's a couple pics.

Here's where some were:

Pearl Ice:

Good one:

Almost got away:

Fishes for a couple hours:

Wifey fried it low carb style which I definitely recommend. 3 parts Parmesan cheese, 2 parts flax seed meal, 1 part almond flour. Crispy and so good!

I almost forgot to mention, while out on the water Glen Miller, the owner of G-Rods and Doug Lawson, a member of his pro-staf were fishing near me. Super nice guys both of them. Told them that I was thinking about getting a couple of thier rods, and they offered to let me try a 9 footer! I loved it. Awesome rod. Super sensitive tip and the part I care about the most, I was able to swing an almost 2 pound fish with it. I can't stand rods that don't have good backbone and are whippy. This rod is neither. It's super light weight graphine, super sensitive tip and man, what a great backbone! I think I'm going to get 4 of them and switch over to them. I highly recommend them.

No, that's underwater trees. The bigger fish were on underwater timber. Smaller fish were on brush piles. It pays to pay attention to where stuff is when the lake is 12 ft low like last summer because it is good fishing when the water comes up!

Nothing like a great relaxing day pulling slabs. Always good to spend time with the wife on the water too...even if she is staring at her phone.

Great post!!!

I love them Thermocline Lures because they really do catch them crappie. The colors and the UV really are the thing that makes them a superior bait.

That's pretty much the same bait I was using yesterday...pink jig head and Lil Fry Silver Flash....and the fish hit it 3 to 1 over any other jig that I tried. Pretty slabs..WTG!
