I am thinking about purchasing a Kayak and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this brand of Kayak (Nucanoe)?

Yes. There are a couple models available. The frontier is a big super stable kayak but not good at all for covering much water. The pursuit looks faster but not quite as stable. Both are good solid kayaks if your type of fishing mates with their qualitys. There are so many kayaks to choose from its best.to make a list of all the things you expect from a kayak and find the one that best suits your needs. Check out mariner sails, go to demo days etc. Great times and good luck on your search. My favorite kayak is the santa cruz raptor. It has a wide variety of qualitys speed and stability.

I have one and love it. Very stable, easy to rig with lots of stuff. My back doesn't allow me to turn around and reach behind me or to sit with my legs out straight very well so the 360 swivel seat is awesome.

Only drawbacks I have is it does catch a lot of wind and it is heavy.

I have been paddling a Nucanoe Frontier 12 for a little over 2 years. There are many things I like about it, and a few things I do not like.

I like the stability, and weight capacity. The thing is super stable. It is room enough to accommodate 2 people plus gear, and a trolling motor (or just paddle). The deck is open, so storing a lot of gear on deck is simple.

I do not like the hatch. There is only one hatch, and the way it is shaped makes it difficult to store much inside the hull. Being wide and stable, you do give up speed (and a lot of it) if you paddle, like I do primarily. even in a kayak style seat, your profile is very wind resistant, and wind-catching.

It really depends on your style of fishing. I prefer to river fish, so I will be acquiring a kayak more suitable for such. If you like being in big open water, paddling this thing will test your endurance lol. I think this vessel was designed to accommodate some kind of motor.

Just remember...after you go down you have to go back up. Try a santa cruz raptor.

My advice is to give one a try. We offer demos as do most local kayak shops. Everyone has their opinion but yours will be the most valuable!

Try a Native Ultimate FX12. It was designed for that very purpose.

Let me know if you want to try one and I'll take you to the river and let you use mine.

I have paddled the Frontier as well as the Pursuit. The Frontier is a barge to paddle but the Pursuit paddles very well for a super stable boat.
