So looking to take the Travel Trailer down to Pins and camp this weekend. Not new to to beach and not new to camping in our TT but new to camping in the TT on the beach. looking for any advice from those that have done or regularly do so. Please share your thoughts and ideas. Been to PINS several times, farthest i have been is to 26 MM. Truck is 4X4 and TT is bumper pull about 26' long. Especially with the recent red tide situation looking for advice on how close to the dunes to get. Thinking of only going a few miles down 3-6 maybe and will look for a wide area of beach (as to leave room for vehicle traffic) but also look for high tide marks (extra advice on that is appreciated). Again please share your thoughts and ideas!

I just got back from a trip to port A and the red tide is not a problem. The water is beautiful with a lot of bait in the first gut. Caught some nice fish and really did not work that hard, it was more of a break. I know there are others that know much more but I do look for areas where the tide line is closest to the water, in theory it should be a little deeper there. I see no reason to find the absolute widest area as long as there is room to get by. That said I would give myself a cushion of 20 yards or so from where I figured the water would be the absolute highest given the tide forecast. The local weatherman predicted significant rain later in the week. Have fun and post pics!

Thank you and will do! Any opinions on what the rain might do (i.e. any affects on the Red Tide?)

Usually just packs the sand down for better driving, if it is too wet with standing water I would not go, that water is just like driving in salt water.
