Fly Flingers,
A couple of BVFF'ers have plans to kayak the Colorado river at Bastrop on Saturday Oct. 3. from Fishermen's park to the Lost Pines Recreation area. The weather forecast for Saturday looks to be about perfect.. morning low in the mid 50’s, daytime high in the mid 80’s with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

I cannot spend the whole day on the river but intend to be down at the lost pines recreation area by daylight. I’ll fish the area from the railroad bridge down to the golf course. I plan to leave the river around the noon hour unless the fishing is really good which might extend my time on the water. I am confident that the fishing will be better than the last two trips to the Colorado.. One year ago this month was the best trip to the Colorado we as a group have ever had.

We always invite the quiet company of other fly fishermen and kayakers..

Thanks for sharing the videos. I know that working with a camera can be a bit cumbersome while trying to fish. You make it look easy. Looks like you found a few nice fish. The drinking woodpecker video was fantastic, rare, and unusual.
I almost got skunked fishing the Colorado just upstream from Columbus, but I still had a great day on the river. The weather and wildlife viewing was good. Animals seemed to be more active with the cooler weather. I watched two different packs of wild hogs grazing along the river bank and a bald eagle flew overhead and upriver. I'm look forward to some cooler weather and great fishing days ahead.

Another excellent video Ben. That instrumental music is like an old friend and really enhances the videos.

Next time you see one of the those water moccasins you should grab it by the tail and pop it like a bullwhip. Or maybe carry a high powered pellet gun, LOL!!

I also like the woodpecker footage.

Year after year I say I'm going to go fish that river. Next year I'm going to have to make it happen.

Gonna be in Bastrop in a couple of weeks for the F1 race. May have to see if I can get down to the water.
Bringing my fishing stuff, since the RV park has a pond on it.
