Im usually on the catfish section but past few trips been going down to Port OConnor. We are heading down on Sunday I have been down there a few times in July and August but not much luck on finding any reds or trout have fished the jetties and the areas right around there. My son caught a smaller red on the jetties in July but nothing else any help locating them this time of year would be appreciated!

Thanx
JJ

What kind of boat?
High tides have the reds in the far reaches of the back lakes right now, trout are getting it done wading knee/thigh deep sand/grass flats.

Get back away from the shallow sports and get against the marsh grass. Lot's of cool stuff in 10" of water right now.

I have some 1/2 oz silver spoons, couple popping cork rods and then a red and white plug, black and yellow plug and a couple rods to free line some shrimp or live bait, and 2 bottom rigs

Throwing meat in shin deep water isn't going to get you much. Most fish are visible or are extremely aggressive, they'd swim fifteen feet to hit a sand eel saturday.

Pumkin/chartreuse or red/white hogie super minnow, and tequila/chartreuse sand eels were working best, rigged on 1/8 oz oldham screwlock head.
