So last week I took my old man's Triton out and managed to crack the transducer for his hummingbird 798si. I've looked on the interwebs and found a couple different ones that says it is compatible with said unit. I'm not to knowledgeable about the things and was wondering if any of y'all have any input as to which one I should replace it with. Thanks.

http://www.humminbird.com/Products/XHS-9-HDSI-180-T/ This one is a little more expensive than the compact si tducer that comes with the 798 but you will get better imaging. Might want to invest in the transducer saver as well .http://www.transducershieldandsaver.com/product/sbb-hdsi-combo/ Little pricy but it can save a fishing trip

The standard transducer for all three version of the 798 is the XNT 9 SI 180 T. It is the Compact SI transducer. If you just broke the mount, that is the MHX XNT. As 44 diesel suggested, the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T will give it sharper images. The included transom mount is a lot stronger than the XNT mount which is all plastic. This is a screen shot from a 798ci SI Combo using the HDSI transducer:
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3, Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1
