I hooked up the 220 pmax and it works pretty good. Can't wait to drift lavender for some cats. Hooking up a trolling motor to it as well.

I ran Garmin units on my front graphs for both of my power boats for years, nothing wrong with them at all. They do not usually have as many bells and whistles as the lowrance/humminbirds but they give you depth and fish finding capability. I would say that the 301 dv is fine but I would add gps/maps for convenience if you can fit it in your budget, those features makes a world of difference when trying to find previously fished cover and structure. You spend less time trying to find the brush pile and more time fishing it.

Please post pics once you get yours mounted. Has anyone ever mounted a transducer on a Ascend FS12t ? I'm thinking of doing thru the scupper hole also but I worry that it would be to exposed when loading and unloading my kayak. I'm thinking of somehow making it quick release .
