I have just purchased a 99 Triton TR19. The drain plug is the plastic screw in type. I would like to get a spare "just in case". Is this something I can get at Academy or do I need to go to a dealer? Thanks for the help in advance. TGIF!!!!

You can just replace the whole thing with two screws and some silicon, but yes, they are common threaded plug.

I have an 01 tr21. It is no big deal if i don't put the plug in. Bilge will come on every couple of hrs. for a minute. I have left the boat in the water for 3 days without the plug.

I have a 1997 Triton. It has the plug with fine threads and those can be hard to find. Rockwall Marine didn't have one when I tried to get a spare. I suppose I need to do some more looking around because not having a spare isn't a good idea.

I would make sure and take the plug you've got in with you to Academy or wherever to make sure the threads are the same.

have a 99 TX-21.
if need be just get one of the T handle screw(expansion type). they will expand enough that it doesn't matter what kind of thread you have !!!!

I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

I appreciate the help. Just trying to cover one of those "what if" moments.
