Fished Lake Fork today. Couldn't get a deep bite going. At 12:30 i had one keeper so I started fishing shallow and picked up 10 more nice keepers before shutting it down at 2:30. Fish were 11 feet deep in 12-13 feet of water, on white/ chartreuse jigs tipped with a minnow

Carl, you did good for the time spent on the water. Did you catch a lot of dinks? I must have caught 30-40 but only had 6 good keepers, the biggest being 1.78lbs. I caught all but one in water 17-19' around the 14' marker, except for the large one. As I was approaching the next b'arc, I swung it out to the spot I wanted and before it went 4' down she inhaled it. That caught me off guard but I still got her in. There was another one there but I missed it. I was using minnows.

I went to a couple of deeper honey holes and it was nada. Called it a day.

Thanks Jimmy! I didn't catch a single dink. I caught a couple of small bass and a catfish, but that was it. My biggest was 1.80, smallest was 1.17. I didn't weigh the others, but they were probably 1.25 to 1.5. I didn't fish water quite as deep as Kirk, but I guess I should have. I stopped at 30 feet, trying down to 19. I'll go deeper next time.

I have been seeing about the same as you guys, but they are some in the 10-12 foot water only 7-8 foot down. I think what we have is some feeding on threadfin shad and the ones out deeper are feeding on gizzard shad. Its just a hole what you have as long as it works and then drop off to the other when it don't. But now they are ever where and the time of day is the big thing. Good fishing

Very nice catch Carl. I too have been finding the bigger fish in 10-15' of water.
