It is getting to be that time of year again when the shad are seriously ganged up and the bass are going crazy on them! I shot this picture last November on a guide trip where we absolutely blistered them on jigging spoons and A-rigs! If you want to really learn how to catch fish when they are using shad as cover, right now until the end of December is time. https://www.facebook.com/EliteAnglerAcademyhttp://www.eliteangleracademy.com/Clark Reehm (479)970-3388

I am the first to admit it........ This is why I need a lesson on electronics and only use my graphs for depths and structure. I just don't see anything here but a big mess. I know I could get so much more out of my electronics if I just knew what I was looking at.

This is the same going on in timber. The bass have split the shad school from the standing tree:

Looks like you went right through them. I can't recall if I've ever seen a shadow created by that thick of a bait ball.
Cool pic!
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

OP seems to instruct on reading electronics..... but curiously the posted sonar images he posted here ( perhaps from a customer's rig) could have improved details, better sensitivity and improved digital auto-filtering with the repositioning of the transducer/needed hole shot plate on jackplate on the port side of the transducer....note the hard echos near the surface and their effects on the image sensitivity and details .

He's talking about the 6-10 lines on the top of Clark's photo, the left side (assuming the transducer is not reverse mounted) is picking up interference from something. Usually it is part of the jack plate or motor mount. It just depends on where the transducer is mounted and the layout of the boat. Some people just mount it high to avoid killing it on stumps or rocks and live with the interference. It can sometimes be resolved by adjusting trim angles too.

I see now. I just thought those lines were lay downs or deep long depressions just like the tires in the next pic.
