I am considering making a dozen homemade jug lines, with foam noodles. I have a few questions, can I make them any color? I have heard they must be white in color???? What is required on the gear tag? Name/Address/phone number/date set. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Any color but orange. I like yellow. ID tag you mentioned is OK.

I put my phone number on them just in case I ever lose one. I have not lost one yet but that is probably because I am always by them while they are fishing and watching. The first time they stand up is my favorite part I don't like missing it.
