The crappie are finally starting to bite a little bit over here west of Mineral Wells, but they are all small. Since the rains earlier this year they have been very hard to find. Now they are small. Just giving an update for this area.

Been seeing that some too Tom. Got a 9.5 incher doodling a roadrunner around a sunken cedar in Bluff Creek the other day. I stretched him and folded his tail but he just would not hit that 10 inch line. Got this nice Black crappie fishing under a dock in about 35 feet of water at night this week at Pk. With most of the stripers leaving for the river, the crappie seem to feel it's safe to come out now. We need to go fish Mineral wells lake sometime. I hear that fishing is real good there now.

I've been seeing a lot of fish under 10 inches in my spots on my local lake too. I had 14 keepers Sunday with the biggest going 14 in. I went back to the same spot yesterday and caught a ton in the 8-9 in range, and only one being right at 10 in.

Crappie Hogger, Yes I fished Hubbard Creek Lake, before it went low, but have not been back since. There were some great crappie in that lake, however, I was fishing the creek just before it went in the lake, A friend told me that with the water low it makes them easier to find. I don't know if that is true. I have not been back because I am not sure where other boat ramps are that I can put in there. I don't know that lake. Lake Leon is a good lake too.
PKfishin - I have not been to MW Lake lately, went about 2 months ago and not much there. I do not go there on weekends to crowded. I plan on going to Graham this weekend with a friend of mine, need to pick up a reel that I am having repaired there. Hope to try Palo Pinto again tomorrow and if still nothing will move on to other lakes. If you want to try MW lake in the future let me know. I have a yearly Texas State Park Pass that is good there.
