New to the slip ownership and fishing. I would really appreciate any tips on how to put trees in my slip. Also since Christmas trees are not readily available yet, what type of trees would you recommend? Any tips and tricks and help would be GREAT!!!

Thanks!
JZ

Avoid Christmas trees. Use fresh cedar trees if possible.if water is deep enough hang trees top up with the top about 5' below the surface.

I am not sure about the depth yet... It is at Collin Park Marina so I will have to check. Do you sink the tree with a cinder block or something?

I use willow and cedar. I put a lot of brush on the bottom with blocks and hang fewer trees over the top of it. I'm in 24 ft. Of water right now at Hubbard. The winter fish will be in the brush or suspended above it. My 2 cents, hope this helps.

Fresh cedar trees don't take much weight to sink if you put them out in the same day, next day after you cut them.

Just take a ride down about any country road. They grow every where on the fence rows. If its on the road side of the fence its there for the taking.

Have used them all. Last years we used bamboo for the 1st time , It by far is better.Plust it want rot like xmas trees. My PVC is not as good as I would have thought , but it does work. Cut them green , left all the leaves on them and put them in a 5 gallon bucket with quick create.
