Mounted me a couple of lights on the Ride 135. These are LED and I'm running them off of the 12volt deer feeder battery I use to run my fish finder. It's all mounted on one piece so it's easy to take on and off. The yellow pelican box holds my battery.

I like to see where I'm paddling at night.

Do you think a single could be mounted on a 1/4" steel plate and held in place by a magnet inside the kayak? I have a PA12 and would put the battery in the front hatch and just run the wire under the cover. What do you think?

Looks good. It's a bad feeling when you get high centered at night time.

Pop751, I used an LED daytime running light for mine and mounted them to 3/4 PVC. This makes it very light weight, which would allow you to use a strip of stick on Velcro (or something similar) to hold it on the front of your yak.
